Big Beams Timber Frames

   We are excited to cut and raise this 12'x16' Sugar House Frame during our Adult workshops this summer. The design has been well thought out and is an ideal size for a hobbyist syrup maker. The center bent is offset to provide more room in the back bay to accommodate an evaporator and supplies. The design also allows for an optional loft in the front bay for supply storage during the offseason. This frame will sit on a concrete floating slab so there is not timber floor system, but one could easily be added. 

   We will cut posts, braces, cupola timbers, and girts during the first week (Boot Camp Class) and will cut more advanced joinery (wedged half-dovetail and scarfs) for Plates, Tie Beams and common rafters during the second week (Expanded Timber Framing).
